I liked this, although the idea of keeping something secret while using facebook is ironic too (source).

    If only our privacy was as secure as it is in the US.
    The NSA would love to have the information gathering powers I have access to in my low paid day job. About the only thing they can do that I couldn’t would be to get a phone tap. And none of that info gathering requires court orders, secret or otherwise.
    We voted down the Australia card b/c of privacy concerns, so the government implemented it by merging all the departments that would have been attached to it into a single department.

    Very true, and Australians seem basically compliant with whatever is pushed through as long as it is over shadowed by a major sporting event. The footy grand final telecast can never be interrupted.
